Creating opportunities for others

My approach to philanthropy connects immediate assistance with the longer-term development of people and businesses. Financial resources matter, but so do knowledge, mentorship and the opportunity to earn a sustainable living.

Philanthropy has been a recurring part of my professional life, alongside consultancy and business development.

 

Enterprise and mentorship

I believe that sharing practical experience can be an important contribution. Helping an entrepreneur think through an opportunity, understand responsibilities and develop business judgement can have value beyond a single transaction.

This principle has informed my involvement in mentorship and entrepreneurial development initiatives over the years.

 

GABM and my philanthropic background

I founded the Global Association of Billionaires and Millionaires, known as GABM, in 2000 and later served as its president until August 2015.

My philanthropic history includes initiatives concerning education, entrepreneurial development, food assistance and drought relief. The accompanying public-record articles set out the relevant history and supporting records, including the distinctions between commitments, reported assistance and matters that remain disputed.

 

The Paulsmeier Foundation

The Paulsmeier Foundation's purpose is to alleviate poverty and create opportunities through philanthropic programs and projects.

Its areas of purpose include tertiary education, entrepreneurial development, employment creation, business rescue and social and environmental assistance.

The Paulsmeier Foundation and the Paulsmeier Family Foundation are separate organizations. Their respective affairs and records should be identified under their full names.

 

A continuing principle

My aim is to contribute in ways that respect people's dignity and strengthen their ability to build a future. Education, practical experience, enterprise and responsible use of resources are central to that commitment.
